Kempō oder Kenpō? Die korrekte Antwort auf diese Frage lautet: Ja.
Beides sind japanische transkriptionsvarianten der hanji Zeichen 拳法 (vergleiche: Jū/Ju/Jiu=柔).

BesonderheitenKenpō basiert auf alten Kampftechniken der traditionellen Systeme Okinawas, Japans und Chinas, die den Bedürfnissen der Neuzeit angepasst wurden. Jede Bewegung löst eine bestimmte Reaktion bei dem Gegner aus, diese Reaktion löst die eigene nächste Bewegung aus.
Es ist ein Zusammenspiel von zirkularen und linearen Bewegungen, ein System, das auf mathematisch, physikalischen und biologischen Berechnungen sowie wissenschaftlichen Erkenntnissen beruht.

*Ein einzelner Gründer den Kenpō/Kempō lässt sich historisch nicht festlegen, da man zunächst definieren muss, welchen Stil des Kenpō/Kempō man genau hinterfragt.
Da die meisten der heute bekannten Kenpō/Kempō Varianten und Stile sich auf James Mitose zurückverfolgen lassen, habe ich diesen hier als Gründer aufgeführt.
